Position:  Director, Seed Agriculture
Location:  Midwest Minnesota to Texas
(Other locations will be considered)
International Seed company is recruiting a Director of Business Development, to manage their Sales and Marketing.  They will be responsible for increasing the company’s specialty crop varieties sales growth in the U.S. and Canada.
Director will manage commercial activities by planning, implementing, and overseeing sales strategies and marketing.  The main objective is to develop sales and increase market share and customer base
  • Define and supervise objectives, actions, and achievements for the company’s specialty field crops.
  • In conjunction with senior management, plan and implement sales strategies to gain market share and increase profitability.
  • Coordinate the budgeting process, including marketing and promotional activities.
  • Determine sales volume targets by region and by variety.
  • Monitor key measurements and report to upper management.
  • Interface directly with customers to help build relationships.
  • Identify and develop key accounts for and offer support in developing and maintaining relationships.
  • Oversee national segmentation strategies and determine specific pricing policy for each region.
  • In conjunction with the Product Development Manager, define production targets and seed releases volumes for each region.
  • Coordinate various sales events within the regions.
  • Participate in Product launches, Distributor meetings, field days, Industry meetings, Conferences and other events.
  • Willing to travel on a regular basis
  • Degree in Agriculture related field
  • MBA or advance degree a plus
  • Experience working with and selling; growers – grain suppliers – reseller
  • Experience selling / business development in seed industry
  • Technical Skills Knowledge of specialty crop production and agronomy
  • Able to work in a multi-culture company environment
  • Agronomist / Plant Breeder experience a PLUS
